Gopher Football Make SC Top 10 2 Weeks Straight
Despite only beating the South Dakota State Jackrabbits by a touchdown two weeks ago, the Gophers have still found themselves in the national spotlight (in a good way).
Surprisingly, the Gophers have been able to cough two top 10 worthy plays, by ESPN's standards, in each of their first two games. The first coming in week 1 from Sophomore Rashod Bateman who had a stunning one arm grab for a touchdown with less than a minute to go in the first half to give the Gophers the lead.
The next one came in week 2 against Fresno State when the game looked like it was all but over. It was fourth and 13 with the ball on the 20 yard line and only 50 seconds remaining in the game when RS Sophomore quarterback, Tanner Morgan threw an absolute dime to RS Sophomore, Chris Autman-Bell (love the zing on that name) who was just barely able to get one foot down in the corner end zone to get the touchdown, tie the game and force OT. The Gophers ended up winning 38-35.
It is odd to see such highly athletic plays from a team that has struggled for so long to produce any real results. It gives you a little bit of hope as Gopher fans.
