Minnesota Gophers in the College Football Playoff?
There are 12 teams still undefeated in college football this season, and one of those teams is the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
The Gophers are 6-0 (3-0), and by the time you are reading this, they could even be 7-0 after they play Rutgers Saturday. With Minnesota still being undefeated halfway through the year, it begs the question, could the Gophers make the college football playoff?
For sure they could! But what are the chances of a team like the Gophers and a stage like the College Football Playoff ending up together? Just lay it on me. I have been waiting a long time for Minnesota to be undefeated at this point of a season and to be even lightly mentioned in the conversation to compete for a national championship. Lay it on me! What are the chances?
Well, they're not good! Of the 12 remaining undefeated teams, the Gophers rank near the bottom with just a 3 percent chance of making the CFP, according to FiveThirtyEight.
Yes! The fact that we even have a shot in hell of making it to the CFP is a success, at least for me! We just have to see how the rest of the season pans out!
Row the boat, Ski-U-Mah, Go Gophers!
