Series Recap: The Gophers Hockey Team is Bad!

I'm going to keep this post short and sweet because there is no need for me to waste your time with this team.

The Gophers Men's Hockey team was swept by the Penn State Nittany Lions at home this past weekend. They were outscored 14-5, losing 8-2 Friday and 6-3 Saturday night.

That is plain awful! The Gophers never stood a chance against the Nittany Lions. Penn State is first place in the Big Ten with a 9-2 (5-2) record, but still. How does Minnesota not even compete in this series AT HOME! That was just an embarrassment in front of a, probably small, home crowd.

I still believe in Bob Motzko, but it is not looking good thus far into his second year. C'mon Bobby! Let's go!

Even though this Gophers team is young and all, and may still be a couple years from really having a solid team, you cannot get blown out at home like they did this past weekend. That was bad!

As a Minnesota fan, I hope they bounce back, but if you get trounced like that to the top team in the Big Ten, that is not a good sign. The Big Ten is by far one of the weakest conferences in college hockey.

Surprisingly, the Gophers are still sitting in fourth place out of seven teams after that abysmal performance this past weekend, but that really isn't saying much. They are 4-6-2 (1-3-2) with 7 points in conference play.

Minnesota takes on Wisconsin this upcoming weekend at the 'Ucci'. Hopefully they can use this as a bounce-back series because they need it. Let's see this Gophers team win the rest of their games, huh? LOL

Pride on Ice! Go Gophers!
